NEWS

February 2021:        Be aware!

In recent months it has come to QCFA’s attention that many prospective new entrants into the redclaw industry have been approaching the association and its members quoting very speculative production figures that they have found online or have been told. Some of the figures quoted are more than 600 % above the current industrywide average!

The QCFA would like to distance itself from such speculative claims as we have no evidence that anyone, anywhere in the world has achieved such levels with redclaw consistently at commercially meaningful quantities.

We also would like to point out that at current average production levels, quality-built farms that are professionally run are indeed profitable. And as gains in production technology and knowhow increase, production and profitability will only get better.

We therefore urge potential new entrants into redclaw farming to do their due diligence and to get information from as many reputable and recognised industry players as possible.

September 2018:  A sequel to the well-received book “Redclaw Farming – Getting Started” will be launched at the NQCFA meeting on 29 September 2018.  Titled “Farming Redclaw – Let’s do it Right!”,  this book carries on from where ‘Getting Started’ finished. read more….
Anyone interested in purchasing either or both of these books can do so by requesting an order form via our email address: publications@queenslandredclaw.org

June 2018: AquaVerde Redclaw hosted the board of AgriFutures (former RIRDC) to promote redclaw and explain its potential to them. They are strong supporter of the redclaw industry and it was great to give them an opportunity to see how their money is being spent.
